Residents appreciate our independent living lifestyle because it’s flexible: you can create your own package of personalized support and care services tailored to your needs, priorities, and finances, while living in a vibrant, safe, and welcoming environment.
Care Services available
At The Sumach, your rental package includes access to all of our social and recreational offerings, as well as beautiful amenities like a fully outfitted fitness centre, library, pet wash station, bistro, and theatre room. If you’d like to take cooking off your to-do list, you can opt for up to two meals daily in our open seating dining room too.
Your security and safety are top priority for us, which is why our building has a secure entrance and a 24-hour concierge. All of our bathrooms have been equipped with grab bars, and your Personal Emergency Response Pendant will alert our staff day and night if alerted by you.
We want to help you to continue living your best and healthiest life at The Sumach by Chartwell. All of our independent living residents have different needs, which is why we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to your package. Instead, we offer care in a flexible way if you require it. Your suite’s monthly fee includes access to our on-site nurse, and we will monitor your vitals, too. If you need any care services, you’ll collaborate with our Health & Wellness Manager so we can assess where and when you’d benefit from having assistance. Maybe you’d like help managing your prescribed medications, or assistance with getting ready in the morning? Some residents ask for help with oxygen service or routine lab services, while others appreciate being escorted to the dining room. Your selections will be added to your personalized care plan, and you can change your plan at any time to ensure we’re always addressing your needs. You can either choose a service or two à la carte or opt for an all-inclusive package.
We’re here to help you or a loved one understand your options and which service level will be the right fit for you. Our Health & Wellness Manager will also conduct an assessment before you move in to ensure you’re receiving the right level of care for your unique needs and preferences.
