We tried to think of the amenities you’d appreciate most when we created The Sumach by Chartwell from the ground up. We have everything from gorgeous outdoor spaces, perfect for lounging, gardening, and watching movies under the stars, to indoor spaces like a modern fitness centre, stylish lounges, cozy activity rooms and billiards. Our calendar of activities caters to a wide variety of interests, whether you be active, entertained, curious, social, or spiritual. As always, our recreation programs are designed to be fun, engaging, and community-minded and they’re always optional.

Many of our residents lead busy, active lives with strong community ties and a keen interest in making the most of their retirement years. If that sounds like you, you might appreciate that we offer a wide range of activities at The Sumach by Chartwell, from strength-building workouts and yoga for every ability to fun socials, holiday celebrations, and live entertainment. You might like to connect with other creative-minded seniors at a Paint Night, or take a blanket to watch a movie under the stars on our spectacular rooftop patio. Sample cuisines from around the world at our chef’s table series or pick your favourite at a beer tasting. We have engaging guest speakers and cultural demonstrations, and our library shelves are lined with books you can borrow and enjoy.

Our vibrant residence boasts gorgeous rooms that have been impeccably designed. You’ll love our open, restaurant-worthy dining room that looks onto our bustling street, as well as our lovely private dining room suitable for intimate dinner parties. We have a fitness room featuring state-of-the-art equipment, lounges designed for you to feel comfortable and welcome, whether you’re reading the newspaper or chatting with a friend. Head to our movie theatre to watch great films from yesterday and today. Our bar/lounge is perfect for an evening cocktail. Our staff are ready to answer your questions in the wellness centre too.
