Chartwell McConnell is a welcoming bilingual retirement campus featuring seniors’ apartments for active and independent retirees, set on beautifully landscaped grounds in central Cornwall. Our apartment residents lead the independent, flexible, and worry-free lifestyle they desire, opting into the services that make their life easier and more convenient and accessing the activities and amenities at our main residence as they wish.

Are you ready to right-size your retirement lifestyle so you’re spending less time on household chores and upkeep, and more time on what you enjoy? If so, Chartwell McConnell’s seniors’ apartments offer the perfect way to simplify your retirement without sacrificing comfort, privacy and your personal aesthetic.

Our seniors’ apartments are in a separate building from our main residence, where you’ll find a wide variety of unique layout options, including studio and one-bedroom apartments with kitchenettes, as well as one-bedroom and two-bedroom layouts with full kitchens outfitted with modern appliances you’d need to cook in your private space. Most of our pet-friendly apartments with large windows are also equipped with in-suite laundry facilities, an individual thermostat so you can control heating, walk-in closets, and private balconies, Juliette balconies, or walk-out patios for fresh air and beautiful views of our lush outdoor space. If you have a vehicle, you’ll have access to indoor or outdoor parking options too!

At Chartwell McConnell, we often ask ourselves how we can make your life easier and more enjoyable too. Our staff are here to provide as little or as much support as you’d like, with your flexible service package including monthly housekeeping, concierge services, telephone, cable TV, Wi-Fi and access to à la carte dining options in our social dining room at our main residence. Enhanced meal and housekeeping packages, linen service, mail delivery, hair salon services, and indoor or outdoor parking are also available for an additional fee.

Additionally, you can choose to participate in any or many of the engaging and enriching activities, classes, talks, and outings offered at our residence—from live entertainment, films and Happy Hour socials to exercise classes, yoga sessions, painting, card games, and billiards. Our wonderful on-site amenity spaces serve as an extension of your private accommodations, and include a well-equipped fitness room, library, movie theatre, activity room, multi-purpose room, social dining room, private dining room, lounge, beautifully landscaped terrace, walking paths, and many more places for casual socializing.

Finally, to enhance your sense of personal safety, we have staff on-site 24-7, a security system, emergency response, and the reassuring benefit that you live in a quiet, private setting amongst your peers.

There is no minimum age requirement to call one of our apartments home. You’ll find our residents are typically over the age of 65, however our age range can be quite broad as someone 90 years old may be just as active, healthy and independent as someone who is 70!
Can I decorate my apartment at Chartwell McConnell?
Yes! We encourage new residents to create a space that reflects their personality and style. Anything from your favourite chair, painting, cabinet or any other decor can help you feel comfortable and adjust quicker to your new home. Our apartments are unfurnished, so you can make your space truly your own.
