Chartwell Emerald Hills retirement residence in Sherwood Park provides a full continuum of care for seniors with varying lifestyle and care needs. We offer independent living services, as well as funded options through Alberta Health Services, such as Private Supportive Living, Designated Supportive Living (assisted living), and Designated Supportive Living 4D (memory care). With so many options available, you can feel confident that we can accommodate your changing needs over time so you can age comfortably with us.
Independent living
Care Services available
Our independent living lifestyle gives you a wide range of service options that can make each day convenient and worry-free. If you want to socialize with friends and take a break from cooking and doing the dishes, join us for a tasty and nutritious meal served by warm, welcoming staff in our dining room. Do you find that keeping your suite spotless and doing laundry is a chore? Lighten the load with our housekeeping and personal laundry services! Don’t feel like driving to an appointment or the grocery store? Take advantage of our convenient transportation services. To ease your mind, we also have staff on site 24-7, a security system, and emergency response at night.
Your health and wellness are a top priority for us too. That is why we offer many valuable services and easy access to visiting professionals. These include a visiting physiotherapist, visiting occupational therapist, mobile massage therapist and physician visits. Additional care and services may also be available and provided at an additional fee.
Private Supportive Living
Private Supportive Living is well-suited to seniors who want to benefit from an independent lifestyle that offers 24/7 on-site staff support and flexible care services, such as assistance with your morning or evening routine, medication management, and access to a robust team of visiting health care professionals. With this lifestyle option, care services are fully funded by Alberta Health Services.
To qualify for Private Supportive Living, an Alberta Health Services Case Manager completes an assessment and authorizes and funds care services for you at our retirement residence. Care and services are exclusively provided by Chartwell staff. Additional care and services (scheduled or unscheduled) may also be available and provided at an additional fee.
Assisted living (Designated Supportive Living)
Designated Supportive Living combines convenient retirement services with personalized care support. This subsidized lifestyle option is ideal for you or a loved one if you need significant help with your daily routine and customized services that can help maintain or improve your comfort and quality of life. We provide care services such as assistance with activities of daily living, medication management, vitals monitoring, an escort to meals and activities, and much more.
To qualify, an Alberta Health Services Case Manager completes an assessment and authorizes and funds scheduled care services for you or a loved one at our retirement residence. Care and services are exclusively provided by Chartwell staff. Additional care and services (scheduled or unscheduled) may be available and provided at an additional fee.
Memory care (Designated Supportive Living 4D)
Memory care (DSL4D) is a subsidized lifestyle option for seniors living with dementia. Our memory care suites are available in a secure neighbourhood of our retirement community, where seniors living with dementia benefit from specific care and activities tailored to their abilities and needs. Our caring and compassionate staff are trained in dementia support and help residents live each day in contentment and comfort.
To qualify, an Alberta Health Services Case Manager completes an assessment and authorizes and funds care services for your loved one at our retirement residence. Care and services are exclusively provided by Chartwell staff. Additional care and services (scheduled or unscheduled) may be available and provided at an additional fee.
