It is a humanistic approach aimed at supporting residential care settings and equipping care providers who work with individuals who may exhibit resistance to care. In addition to promoting workplace health and safety, the RCA enhances care providers’ job satisfaction and sense of purpose while improving the quality of care. The Relational Care Approach is implemented as part of an organization-wide initiative. Having a certified RCA trainer ensures that the organization has a qualified resource person who can deliver RCA training to colleagues, reinforce their knowledge and skills, and actively contribute to prevention efforts.
