Location, location, location
Set on five acres of lush green space, our lovely location in Brantford’s north end allows us the best of both worlds: a small-town community feel, paired with access to a variety of convenient amenities close by. Within walking distance of our residence on King George Road you’ll find a Walmart Supercentre, grocery and liquor stores, banks, restaurants, medical clinics, and a movie theatre! But if you simply want to get out for some fresh air, you’ll find plenty of residential paths lined with mature trees that make for a nice walk, including our own well-manicured walking paths that adjoin Powerline Road.
Choice and flexibility
One of the most appreciated aspects of life at Chartwell Tranquility is our flexible living environment, where you can comfortably age in place thanks to a complement of personal support services available to add onto your package at any time. That means you can customize your package to your individual needs, preferences and budget, including the number of meals you enjoy with us and the care services you elect to receive. In our main retirement residence, there’s choice in the suite that you call home, as we offer a variety of spacious suite types—including studio, one-, one-plus-den and two-bedroom suites—that feature kitchenettes if you prefer to continue to cook your own meals. We also have independent seniors’ apartments in a separate building that are ideal for active older adults and downsizers!
The dining experience
Independent living at Chartwell Tranquility Place is all about choosing the lifestyle that will provide you with the retirement experience that fits you, your needs, and your budget. Our dining experience is a key part of this: we offer you up to two delicious meals every day. You can choose from daily featured or à la carte menus, both chock-full of fresh, wholesome ingredients that are sourced locally through our supplier whenever possible. Every meal is prepared and served with care, and you choose where you would like to sit in our charming dining room—this is an inviting place where you’ll enjoy the lively conversation as much as the delicious meal. And don’t forget our freshly prepared snacks, to be enjoyed throughout the day!

The ambience is country, but the steps-away amenities offer big-city convenience in the Walmart SuperCentre, where grocery stores, LCBO/Beer Store, Dollar Tree, and several restaurants meet almost every retail need. Travel a little farther south on King George Road, and you’ll find several medical centres and Brantford General Hospital. Things to do in Brantford
Most of us know the southwestern Ontario city of Brantford as the birthplace of the telephone—you can learn more about this pioneering invention at the Bell Homestead National Historic Site, one of the city’s fascinating historical attractions. Another is the Canadian Military Heritage Museum, with its vast collection of war artifacts. History also lives on in the Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts, current home to a full schedule of plays, performers, and events.
Brantford is very much a modern city though, with a terrific variety of attractions and amenities for its over 100,000 residents—and visitors—to enjoy. Take in a festival or two, such as the International Village Festival, the Kinsmen Ribfest, or the Brantford Comedy Festival. Or you may wish to try your luck year-round at Elements Casino Brantford.
There’s always something to see and do downtown too. Explore the trendy boutiques, antique shops, and restaurants in the city’s core, and catch a glimpse of the Grand River as it winds its way through the neighbourhood. The Grand also offers great spots to canoe or fish. For more outdoor fun, Brant Conservation Area and Mohawk Park invite you to walk, bike, and picnic on acres of natural, protected land.
