Our well-established residence offers independent living services in studio, one-bedroom, one-bedroom-plus-den and two-bedroom suites, with a layout to suit every taste. In fact, some of our two-bedroom suites uniquely offer a full kitchen and two bathrooms—perfect for couples or individuals looking to downsize—and some of our main floor suites offer 12-ft ceilings and patio walkouts.

You’ll be embraced by our warm, social atmosphere the moment you walk through our doors. Our spacious residence is defined by beautiful, large windows, allowing in swathes of light and providing spectacular views of the central courtyard from our dining room and our surrounding greenspace. Our lush outdoor space features patios with comfortable seating, manicured gardens, mature trees and walking paths that are often used by our Walking Club! Other contemporary amenities that act as an extension of your private living space include a spa, therapeutic saltwater pool, hair salon, licensed pub, fitness room, indoor putting green and chapel.
The dining experience
The dining experience at Chartwell Harwood is also all about choice. Three daily meals are included, and you can select from our delicious, nutritious, and diversified daily menus, or our equally popular à la carte menu, all offering freshly-prepared, well-balanced dishes using fresh, seasonal ingredients. We also happily accommodate special dietary needs. We offer flexible dining times and open seating in our bright and elegant dining room, overlooking our lovely landscaped grounds.

Within an easy stroll of numerous convenient amenities, including scores of major retailers, both independent and chain restaurants, pharmacies, grocery, and liquor stores, Chartwell Harwood residents also enjoy the fact that many waterfront parks on Lake Ontario, Ajax Downs and Casino Ajax are a few minutes’ drive away.
Things to do in Ajax
A vibrant suburban city just east of Toronto with a pretty Lake Ontario location and excellent amenities, Ajax is a great place to live for seniors, singles, and families. The waterfront is a popular spot with its Waterfront Trail, Paradise Park, and Veteran’s Point Gardens. Just a few minutes’ further north, the Greenwood Conservation Area is home to a network of hiking trails. For over five decades, Ajax Downs and the newer Ajax Casino have been entertaining residents. The St. Francis Community Centre has an excellent program of live shows and concerts too, and Ajax Winterfest will keep you warmly entertained during a cold February.
