At Chartwell Wescott in Edmonton, our upscale retirement residence in Edmonton offers an independent living lifestyle that can be tailored to your needs and preferences, with homecare options available through Alberta Health Services for seniors in need of care support. We also offer Memory Living in a secure neighbourhood of our retirement community that provides specialized care and support for seniors living with dementia.
Care Services available
Our independent living lifestyle provides a variety of service options that can help make each day convenient, stress-free, and happy. If you want to visit with friends over dinner and take a night off from preparing meals and washing dishes, join us for a tasty, nutritious meal served by warm, welcoming staff in our dining room, served with a smile. Are you feeling tired or stressed? Pamper yourself by getting your nails and hair done in our beauty salon, or why not go for a refreshing swim in our pool? Would you prefer to spend less time and energy keeping your suite and clothing spotless? Lighten the load with our housekeeping and personal laundry services. Need to get to an appointment or the grocery store? Book our chauffeur services to get to and from a medical appointment, or to have groceries delivered to your suite. For your peace of mind, we also have staff on site 24-7 and emergency response at night.
Your health and wellness matter to us too. That’s why we offer many valuable services and easy access to visiting professionals. These include massage therapy, a visiting podiatrist, visiting optometrist, visiting physician, lab services and a pharmacy.
Homecare services for specific care needs can also be accessed through Alberta Health Services or third-party providers. To qualify, an AHS case manager completes an assessment, authorizes, and schedules care for an individual at their retirement residence. Additional care and services (scheduled or unscheduled) may be available and provided at an additional fee.
Our retirement residence also uniquely offers a dedicated Memory Living neighbourhood with high staff-to-resident ratios for seniors living with dementia. We offer a unique, person-centred approach to memory care that allows our trained and caring staff to form strong social connections with residents to build trust and familiarity, helping them to live each day in contentment and comfort. We also have a dedicated Memory Living Manager and Social Worker to support the families of our residents living with dementia. Memory care services may include medication management, assistance with activities of daily living, access to an on-site nurse and visiting physician, cueing assistance, and escort to meals and activities, and much more.
