Things to do in Leamington

Known for its long summers, beautiful sunsets, and rich, fertile farmland and marshes, Leamington is a wonderful place to live, an excellent choice for senior living. While its small size on the north shore of Lake Erie gives it a peaceful country charm, it is also a vibrant regional hub, with full-service amenities, including shopping, dining, recreation and healthcare services.

Leamington is an agricultural powerhouse, bursting with farms and greenhouses. All of this delicious fresh food has inspired a healthy restaurant scene, attracting talented chefs and a diverse array of local and international cuisines in the town’s restaurants. The region now has several award-winning wineries, including Pelée Island Winery. Beer lovers are not forgotten either—Cured Craft Brewery on the town’s revitalized Mill Street is just one of several unique restaurants and boutiques housed in historic buildings.

There’s lots to do on the waterfront: Have a picnic or take in a free concert at the amphitheatre in Seacliff Park. Or, if you are a birder, travel 10 minutes east of the town to spend an afternoon at the nearby Hillman Marsh Conservation Area, or the renowned Point Pelée National Park, known for its biodiverse wetlands. The Leamington Raceway, which attracts harness-racing enthusiasts, is located on the Leamington Fairgrounds, another great place to visit for the year-round farmer’s market and annual agricultural fair.
