Relax in serene outdoor spaces

There are an endless number of ways for you or a loved one to spend your time at Chartwell Carrington House, but one area of the retirement home that always attracts attention is our gorgeous outdoor space, including landscaped grounds, walking paths and a resident-driven community garden. We also recently updated our list of amenities to include a new movie theatre, arts and crafts room, and fitness facility.

However, it isn’t our building that makes us a special place to live, but our friendly staff who go above and beyond to make residents’ lives better and foster an inviting, supportive environment. We’re like one big family here, and it isn’t unusual to spot the General Manager having lunch with residents, or staff gathered around to watch a resident blow out birthday candles on a cake thoughtfully prepared by the food and beverage team.

Mission is a small, established city in the Fraser Valley, surrounded by stunning mountain vistas and natural forest settings, less than an hour’s drive from Vancouver and 15 minutes from the U.S. border. Known as “the Jewel of the Valley,” it’s a wonderful place to call home not only because of its warm summers, mild winter climate and rich history, but its proximity to many beautiful lakes, Cascade Falls Regional Park, and Rolley Lake Provincial Park. The Fraser River section near Mission is mostly undeveloped and unspoiled, making it an ideal launch point for many water-based activities and boat tours. If you’re moving to a Mission retirement residence, you can also visit local attractions like Westminster Abbey, Ferncliff Gardens, Trout Creek Farm, MAC Rock Family Art Gallery, The Powerhouse at Stave Falls, Fraser River Heritage Park, Mission Museum, Davis Lake Provincial Park, Hayward Lake Reservoir, and the Dhalia Flower and Grape Festival at Shangrila Farm.
