Assisted Living
What is Assisted Living?
Chartwell’s Assisted Living program is specially-designed to support individuals who would benefit from daily personalized care to lead a better quality of life. Staff are there to ensure your days are spent in comfort and satisfaction, and aim to maximize independence and peace of mind through convenient service, such as medication administration and supervision, assistance with aspects of your daily routine, or an escort to meals and activities.
Many Chartwell retirement residences that offer assisted living services have dedicated neighbourhoods or floors with their own dining rooms and activity lounges.
Benefits of Assisted Living
Assisted living is beneficial for older adults who need highly-personalized support in order to live comfortably and with peace of mind. Delicious and nutritious meals, specially-designed activities, housekeeping and laundry, individualized exercise and rehabilitation services and even dementia support all complement a care plan that is reflective of your unique needs, preferences and choices.
How do I move into a retirement community that offers Assisted Living?
For residents of Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia, we invite you to inquire about availability at the Chartwell retirement community you are interested in. When you visit, staff will conduct an assessment to ensure assisted living will provide you with the right amount of support you need, and may recommend another lifestyle option if required.
Known as Designated Supportive Living in Alberta, eligibility for assisted living in the province requires an assessment by a Home Care Registered Nurse. Information on Designated Supportive Living spaces can be obtained by calling HEALTHLink Alberta toll-free at 1-866-408-5465.
