Step into our spacious lobby and you’ll notice it is buzzing with activity, residents, families, guests, and staff chatting, laughing, or discussing what’s happening today in the residence. We have a full complement of optional activities and amenities purposefully created to help you remain active and engaged, regardless of your mobility. Our LiveNow enrichment program includes many meaningful experiences, all of which are founded on the six dimensions of wellness—physical, social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and vocational. Our experienced staff are there to support you and inspire you in any activity you choose. At the same time, you’ll have numerous opportunities to connect with others; it’s easy to meet new people when you stop by our bistro, relax by the fireplace in the lounge, or join our walking club…the possibilities are all yours!

How would you spend your day at Chartwell Oakville? We have clubs: scrapbooking, knitting, book, and walking clubs invite you to join any time. We have fitness: from stretch and relax, to body and soul, Zumba, and our signature Rhythm ‘N’ Moves class, there’s a fun and inclusive opportunity to move your body. We have get-togethers: how about an ice cream social, Happy Hour, or a demonstration of how to make an authentic Italian pizza? Or an outing to shop or go for lunch at a local spot? We have learning: exercise your brain at a FitMinds session, or be introduced to a new language or travel destination. We have visitors: meet a new furry friend during a pet therapy visit, enjoy a piano recital courtesy of a nearby music school, or learn how to stay safe from a falls-prevention expert. We have worship and reflection: explore your spiritual side at the Java Music Club, or attend a worship service. And last but not least, we have choice: you can choose to do as many—or as few—activities as you please. You are always welcome to relax in your own spacious private suite or in any of our common areas, or be out and about, spending the day exactly as you please.

Visitors often comment on how bright and open the gathering spaces are at Chartwell Oakville. Residents find them easy to navigate and use—for example, our high-ceilinged lounge with its stone fireplace and comfy chairs is a favourite spot. You’ll also find both a main and private dining room, bistro for casual meet-ups and snacks, a bar/lounge for mocktails or cocktails, and a country kitchen where we hold cooking demos, or where you could bake or cook with other residents or family. We also have an activity room, fitness studio, movie theatre, and a spa.
