Care & Support Options at Chartwell Wynfield in Oshawa
We offer two lifestyle options at Chartwell Wynfield: independent living for active seniors who like the option to have support with their everyday living, and assisted living for individuals who require more care and assistance to feel their best each day. Our Care Assist Program allows you to create a fully customizable care plan that you can change at any time to ensure you’ll be able to safely age in place. Having individualized care plans is also wonderful for our residents who are couples, allowing both spouses to receive the right level of care.
Independent living
Care Services available
Independent living is ideal if you’re an active or semi-active senior and you may need some light-to-moderate assistance. Some residents require a bit of help with their evening routine, while others opt for medication supervision and administration or assistance with showering. You can alter your personalized plan at any time to suit your care needs and can opt for services à la carte or as package; either way, so you’re only paying for services you’re using.
You’ll also appreciate knowing that our residence has an on-site nurse available. For your peace of mind, you will also have a Personal Emergency Response Pendant, so you can easily get help at any time. We have trusted care providers who visit our residence, like a doctor, foot care specialist, physiotherapist, and optometrist, letting you conveniently keep all your care under one roof.
Independent living residents also receive three wholesome meals a day, plus weekly housekeeping and linen service.

Assisted living
Our assisted living residents are seeking the comfort of having more support with everyday activities. Care services available in assisted living may include medication supervision, support with your morning and evening dressing, grooming, or hygiene routines, or a companion to make sure you safely get to your meals and activities. You can always select additional assistance options to create your individualized plan and change it at any time. You’ll also have access to our visiting health care specialists to reduce the amount of travel required to maintain your health. We can even take care of lab work.
You’ll also have a Personal Emergency Response Pendant to wear at all times, allowing you to quickly alert our staff if you require assistance. Included in your monthly fee is three meals a day, plus daily housekeeping and laundry service, including linens.
We’re here to help you or a loved one understand your options and which service level will be the right fit for you. Our Health & Wellness Manager will also conduct an assessment before you move in to ensure you’re receiving the right level of care for your unique needs and preferences.
