Chartwell Deerview Crossing is a warm and caring seniors’ community in Hamilton featuring a dedicated Memory Living Neighbourhood specially designed for seniors living with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Located on a secure floor of the retirement residence, our Memory Living Neighbourhood provides a safe and supportive setting that promotes independence, with a focus on daily living activities, specially designed programs, and family-style dining alongside staff.

Chartwell Deerview Crossing's Memory Living Neighbourhood includes the following specialized programs and services to maximize your loved one’s comfort and well-being:

  • Secure and interactive setting with 24-hour supervision
  • Staff training in Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) and Positive Persuasive Approach (PPA) to help them understand and cater to the unique needs of our residents living with dementia

  • Who is eligible for Chartwell’s Memory Living?

    Chartwell’s Memory Living program is designed to meet the needs of individuals living with mild to moderate cognitive impairment who require assistance with managing daily activities. For complete peace of mind, our Memory Living Managers carry out assessments of all individuals looking to join the program to ensure their needs can be met safely in our residences.   • What is the staff-to-resident ratio?

    Memory Living at Chartwell features high staff-to-resident ratios. Residents will have access to registered staff 24 hours a day and will be cared for by our trained and dedicated care staff. Our secure Memory Living neighbourhoods are also supported by dietary servers, housekeepers, and a dedicated Activity Aid.

  • Can I decorate my loved one’s Memory Living suite at Chartwell Deerview Crossing?

    Yes! We encourage new residents and their families to create a space that reflects their personality and style. Anything from a favourite chair, painting, cabinets or any other décor can help your loved one feel comfortable and adjust quicker to their new home. Our suites are unfurnished, so you can make their space truly feel like home.
