I came over from England to visit my Nana who has been a resident here for a few years now. She seems really happy and content here. It's clean and she is well looked after whilst still also having her own independence to do as she pleases. There a lots of daily activities for her to join in with, along with days out. She has made lots of dear friends from her time here too. All the staff are very warm and welcoming. It is like a little community within itself.

The staff at Chartwell Royal Park are amazing and so accommodating! The residents here are very kind! The care that they are given on a daily basis is outstanding! Hayley at the front desk always has a smile on her face for everyone and makes you feel so welcome... Keep up the great work! Shari @ Ryan Murphy Construction

My mother has been at Royal Park for nearly 18 years. What was originally intended to be a stop-gap, temporary solution to help facilitate her move from Ontario to Calgary has definitely turned into a “home” for her, in every sense of the word. Royal Park has many well-organized, weekly programs that provide the residents with: physical stimulation (unfortunately my mother can not participate in these), mental stimulation (which she loves) and social activities/outings (another favorite). As noted by one of the other reviewers one my mother’s favorite daily activities is sitting around the bistro having coffee and chatting with her friends. Everyone is welcome and they have solved many of the world’s problems 😊. The staff is outstanding. They are all caring people who go the extra step to make every resident feel comfortable and welcome. In my mother’s case she has physical disabilities that result in her having limited mobility. However, she regularly gets assistance from the staff that allows her to take part in many of the events that are organized for the residents. They definitely go above and beyond the call-of-duty in this regard—and I believe this applies to all levels of staff; from the administration, to the front office, to the kitchen staff and the volunteers at the residence. I can not say enough superlatives about Royal Park and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reasonably-priced retirement residence for an elder who wants to maintain a sense of independence, but who will also receive any care required to make their life comfortable.

I am a volunteer at royal park, Richardson road! And have been for nearly 4 years., and it is an awesome place., it is a place I would definitely recommend this residence for seniors, there is so much to partake in and be a part of the social aspect of life., the staff are so accommodating to everyone’s needs, I highly recommend this to many I meet in my life as I also volunteer at a hospital and a care centre, and suggest to friends too that it “really works “ to not be alone as we age, we need others in our life to feel fulfilled., and once again highly recommend royal park, Richardson road., you will be very happy you have made the “move”., and wish you had sooner, as many folks do. my mom moved to chartwell (a little unwillingly) 2 years ago. the other residents welcomed her and made her feel part of the community almost instantly. she enjoys many of the activities but mostly the gathering at the koffee korner each night. it is a great group of women and if you join in you get to learn the many interesting backgrounds and life stories of these incredible ladies! super fun bunch 💕. and then you add in the staff. what a fantastic bunch of people!! they truly care about every resident and work daily above and beyond for their personal cares and concerns. other than only one meal a day (we pickrd her because mom does breakfast and lunch on her own) you cant go wrong at chartwell. super happy we picked here for mom....and moms happy too!!

We recently had a tour of this facility and an excellent lunch (with Lita). Very nice clean and impressive retirement residence. Looked at both 1 and 2 bedroom units which are both fairly spacious and well appointed. This facility only has 1 meal per day which appeals to us as most residents do not necessarily want 3 catered meals per day. Also this serves to make the total costs somewhat more moderate. A nice residence worth considering.
