Chartwell Bankside is a newly renovated retirement community featuring seniors’ apartments in a quiet, well-kept neighbourhood in Kitchener. Our lush location is a walker’s paradise, as we are within close distance to many local amenities—including Highland Hills shopping plaza—and back onto serene ​​conservation area. Our residents enjoy lovely leafy views that change with the seasons and often admire the trees, wildlife, and our koi pond from our large back deck.

At Chartwell Bankside, we offer an independent living lifestyle in our main residence that provides you with the flexibility to choose from a host of personalized services so you can achieve comfort and convenience in your retirement years. Our dedicated, longstanding staff are here to support you and help you feel your best, allowing you to spend your time and energy on what’s most important to you. Personal support services can include things like medication management, assistance with your morning or evening routine, and much more.

For active and independent seniors who are recent downsizers or looking to simplify their lives, we also offer independent seniors’ apartments with full kitchens in a separate building with flexible service options.

At Chartwell Bankside, all of our amenity spaces serve as an extension to your personal living space. Our residence features a modern, open-concept feel and a welcoming ambiance. Newly-renovated amenities include our great hall—which serves as our activity space—dining room, bistro, and back patio. Here, you can pursue your interests and enjoy life to the fullest, thanks to optional leisure and social activities, outings, and entertainment, as well as amenities like a fitness centre, chapel and salon.

Located on-site in a separate building, our seniors’ apartments include one-bedroom, one-bedroom-plus-den and two-bedroom options with a full kitchen and stainless-steel appliances, a balcony or patio, ensuite laundry, and ample storage.

Located in the Highland Park community of Kitchener, our newly renovated retirement residence offers the best of all worlds with its proximity to a quiet, walkable, well-kept neighbourhood and natural green space with beautiful views of the landscape and wildlife. Highland Hills shopping plaza is a five-minute walk away. Nearby streets are Fischer-Hallman Road and Highland Road West, providing easy access to shopping, health and dental care, parks, banking, and community centres, as well as St. Mary’s General Hospital and Grand River Hospital.

Kitchener is a dynamic city that blends historic areas with thriving new neighbourhoods. You can explore its agricultural heritage by visiting farmers’ markets, or sample delicious locally grown food at one of the area’s many restaurants, such as high tea at Langdon Hall.
