We placed our mom/mother-in-law at Chartwell Willowdale, 2 and 1/2 years ago. This was a very good decision as they are very efficient and helpful. We were assured that our relative was receiving the best care at this retirement residence. We would recommend this retirement home. Recently, we had to transfer our relative to a Long Term Care home, but we did so with sadness, as we had hoped that our relative could live in the Chartwell Willowdale Retirement residence.

Chartwell Willowdale Retirement Home is a home away from home - it's a warm, comforting, inviting, safe and happy home, where you know you will always get the best of care for your loved one(s). When you enter the building, the first thing you will always see is a smile, with a very warm greeting. If you have any questions, they are always answered to the best of their knowledge/availability and if they don't know the answer, they will find someone who can help you. They have an amazing team that goes above and beyond your expectations. Your loved one(s) will make many new friends who will soon feel like family among the staff and other residents. Your loved one(s) will learn and do so many wonderful things whether it be going out for outings, doing activities like painting/playing bingo, getting fit and healthy with fun exercises. There is always so many fun things to do! When it comes to the meals, the food is always fresh, healthy, hot, local sourced food and tastes amazing, like you are eating in a 5 star restaurant. The best of the best! If there is any food allergies or diet specifications for your loved ones, they make sure your loved ones is taken care of. The building is always clean, neat and tidy and the outside grounds are just as welcoming and inviting for anyone to come and sit down to have a chat/read a good book, or just enjoy Mother Nature and all her glories. You will get nothing but the very best in senior care at Chartwell Willowdale Retirement Home.

Willowdale staff care for my father-in-law., Garry. I am very pleased with them The caregivers, cleaners, maintenance man, chef and kitchen staff and director are always kind, attentive, quick to resolve any concerns. They all engage well with the residents and visitors. They provide a very clean and comfortable setting. They are creative and provide a nice variety of entertainment for the residents even during these difficult Covid time. The staff is exceptional at helping residents navigate the medical community, appointments, prescriptions and currently, vaccinations. Their response to the Covid crisis was handled expeditiously, carefully and professionally. I would recommend this home as a healthy, happy environment in which to respite or live permanently. When my time comes to leave my own home, God willing, I’ll find myself at Willowdale.
