Gary, my spouse, has been at Chartwell Wild Rose since May 27, 2019. It was a very daunting choice; I had a friend from another care home join me in selecting Gary's new home. She asked questions I would not have thought to have asked. The smaller size, the welcoming lobby, the outgoing staff, the in-house care and its location were all part of the final decision. I am very pleased with the decision. It is his home and was chosen with great care to meet his needs and his family"s needs. We needed his place to be comfortable and welcoming for the grandchildren and ourselves to visit. We enjoy his deck and the back patio. When we were able to go for walks on pleasant days it is two blocks to the pond to watch birds, on unpleasant days we would walk around and around Marshall's and on hot summer days we would head over to Wendy's for ice cream. We can walk to his dentist and to his hairdresser. Presently Stella has been keeping Gary looking good and trimming his hair. Thanks Stella. The dining staff are always patient and polite. When Gary's children visit from Calgary they join him for most meals in the dining room and have always been pleased with the meals and attention given to them. Staff take excellent care of Gary. His room is kept clean and tidy. Communication is excellent, I text Patrick Garcia, the director of care, for immediate concerns or matters needing attention. During the recent lockdown I phone and staff would get Gary out on his deck for me to visit him from the back patio, like Romeo and Juliet. Now we have a regular visit on the back patio and staff facilitate this happening. When there were sports events I thought Gary would enjoy I would phone and ask staff to change channels on his TV for him, very accommodating and greatly appreciated. Brent Lang helped get Gary's suite organized when moving in and will also go the extra mile with helping. Erin has several social and physical activities for residents of Wild Rose. I am pleased with Wild Rose on so many levels. Until the COVID19 lockdown I was at Gary's place nearly everyday for a couple of hours I miss them all. They have become friends to Gary and myself; making a very difficult life event just a little bit easier. Hope this review helps you make your best decision for your loved one and for yourself. 😊 Crystal

My mom recently moved in to Wildrose. We shopped around at other seniors places before we chose Wildrose . The reason we moved her here was pretty simple. It is a small home without the usual bells and whistles but we all felt welcome the moment we walked in. Every staff said hello to us. We didn’t have an appointment but we were invited to join in for lunch. We did. The food was simple but wholesome and tasty. No preprepared meals in sight. The server in the dining room couldn’t have been better if she worked in a 5 star hotel. Best of all there were so many choices. My mom ate everything and she hasn’t had an appetite for a long time. After lunch we spent about 2 hours with the manager. She answered all our questions and explained things to us. She didn’t rush us or pressure us. We were so confused after visiting the other places we thought we would never find a new home for my mom. The manager listened to my mom instead of talking to me. At the other places no one said a word to my mom. This place was different. It felt like the manager cared. We went home and called back to say we wanted my mom to be at Wildrose. The exceptional treatment continued and they all made my mom welcome and made me feel like I could stop worrying. My moms care staff are “caring”. The leisure activities are plenty and fun. My mom is doing yoga now for the first time in her life. I love yoga and hope to join in for a class with my mom. We remain very pleased and greatful my mom is at Wildrose. Thankyou to everyone who helps my mom.
