Things to do in Etobicoke

Hugging the western end of Toronto’s shoreline, and intersected by the pretty Humber River, Etobicoke has its own distinct character as one of the Toronto’s unique neighbourhoods. It is a nature lover’s paradise within the city, with so many parks and natural spaces to enjoy. For the best sunset skyline views, head to Humber Bay Shores Park. It’s also a great place to see tiny winged creatures in the park’s butterfly habitat. For a natural indoor experience, the massive Centennial Park Conservatory has stunning collections of native and tropical plants to enjoy. Centennial Park itself also offers a public golf course, pool, and fields.

Etobicoke has some unique shopping venues—spend an afternoon at Dr. Flea’s Flea Market, the largest in Toronto, with a farmer’s market too. For more conventional retail, Sherway Gardens has over 200 stores and restaurants. If you are artistically minded, visit the Etobicoke Civic Centre Art Gallery, showcasing the work of local artists, while local history buffs will enjoy Montgomery’s Inn Museum.

If you're looking for excitement, Woodbine Racetrack and Casino is a popular spot for horse racing and gambling. And if you have grandchildren, the compact Fantasy Fair amusement park at the Woodbine Shopping Centre is a fun place to spend an afternoon.
