In addition to community dining rooms, many of our residences also feature private dining rooms—available for booking family events and celebrations—casual bistros—where you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a freshly-baked snack while reading your morning paper—and what we call “Country” or “Demonstration” Kitchens—gathering places where you can cook a treasured family recipe for yourself, or participate in a group activity like baking for a fundraiser, perhaps.
Our residents have also enjoyed a number of themed dining days as of late. Our National Pizza Day entailed piping-hot, made-to-order pizza pies being served tableside to residents on wooden paddles, while our National Fish & Chips Day saw residents dining on Ocean Wise™ certified, battered cod on a bed of crispy, golden-brown fries—authentically served in a newspaper-lined basket with all the fixings. Thanks to the collaboration between the dining teams and other departments within our residences—including our always-creative recreation teams—special dining events like these are regular occurrences in Chartwell dining rooms.
At Chartwell, our food service teams pride themselves in providing high-quality meals that residents look forward to each day. When you move into one of our residences, you can rest assured that your personal tastes and palate will be reflected in your dining experience. In fact, our food teams meet with new residents to understand individual dietary needs.
