One of the first team members you’ll encounter once you’ve made the decision to move into a Chartwell retirement residence is our Health and Wellness Manager. A meeting will be set up prior to your move-in to discuss existing medical conditions, prescribed treatments and support options. If you require personal care or medication administration from our staff, a plan of care will be designed to meet your specific needs. The plan is personalized and reviewed a minimum of every six months.
Care and wellness services provided in our retirement residences include:
- 24-hour emergency assistance
- Regular observation and supervision of well-being
- Gentle exercise
Fee-for-service personal care programs* can include:
- Medication administration**
- Medication assistance
- Prescribed treatment
- Assistance with daily living activities such as dressing, hygiene and bathing
- Customized special care
- Escort to activities and meals or transfer assistance
- Laundry service, daily housekeeping, seasonal cleaning services
- Other care services as agreed

**The medication service includes the assistance/administration, storage and processing of prescribed medications from the Wellness & Care Centre.
