We want to provide residents with the best possible service and the best-tasting meals so that they feel excited about meal time and the dining experience.
We know how important dining is to our residents. That’s why our on-site food and beverage managers are committed to offering the best-quality meals that taste good and look great. Our Food Services Managers are available to discuss individual dietary needs and take great pride in striving to exceed all expectations.
With a variety of daily choices, delicious and nutritious menu options and well-appointed surroundings, you can sit back and enjoy a friendly and enjoyable dining experience.
Delicious Daily Menus
Most importantly, food is meant to be enjoyed and savoured!
We know that after many years of cooking and enjoying favourite foods and well-loved recipes, our residents care deeply about the quality of their meals and the diversity of choices offered on our menus. Our menus are developed with the tastes and preferences of today’s senior in mind and include a variety of home-style favourites, themed meals and delicious desserts. We warmly welcome recipe suggestions to ensure we include your much-loved dishes and foods on the menu, especially for special occasions.
Selection, Nutrition & Dietary Needs
We want residents to feel comforted knowing that they are eating healthy and nutritious meals which include a variety of choices.
Menus for Chartwell residences, including both retirement homes and Long Term Care homes, are based on recommendations from Canada’s Food Guide and are designed to meet all provincial regulations and association standards. Menus are planned on a rotation schedule and changed seasonally, for special events or to complement an activity theme. Each meal has a good selection of alternatives, and our Food Services team is committed to ensuring quality of food and consistency of services.
Dining Atmosphere – Social & Family Dining
It’s not just what you eat that matters, but who you eat with.
At Chartwell, we encourage socialization and interaction among residents during dining hours to make it a more pleasurable experience. The dining room is a communal environment where cordial social conduct and respect for one another is the norm. Private dining rooms, or use of one of the common areas, like the lounge, library or activity room, may also be made available for personal use on special occasions.
